When Father Meets his baby for the first time

In our days fathers are playing a large role in the birth of their children.  Birth is a journey that two parents take together. Man is supporting a woman in her hard work, comforts her with words of encouragement, holds her in his strong arms and gives her so much needed grounding during labor.

During  the birth of this sweet girl Harris Jane I’ve witnessed the young man show all the love and tenderness to his wife and mom-to-be.  I feel so lucky to be able to capture all the emotions and tears of happiness when he met his little girl for the first time and held her in his arms. Happy you first ever Father’s Day, Aaron!

Dream Your Memories Birth Photography

I also would like to share a beautiful slideshow that presents a collection of photos from 67 professional birth photographers, all members of the Facebook “Birth Photography” group. Each image in this video shows a priceless moment captured by a professional that would not have been captured if dad had been in charge of the camera during labor, delivery and those precious sweet moments after that tiny baby has finally arrived! So dads, please, be the labor support that mom-to-be needs; be by her side, loving and encouraging her. Hold her hand, not the camera!

You can’t just *tell* people about birth photography…you have to *show* them! And we are doing all we can to show you the beauty of professional birth photography. Please share this video with friends and family who might be interested in birth photography. Don’t let them miss an opportunity to have a professional beautifully capture their baby’s birth story!

10-year old Birthday Party Fun | Snoqualmie Valley Lifestyle & Birth Photographer

I can’t believe it… It’s been 10 years since my first child was born. This 10 years changed me so much. I learned a lot. And my children are my best life teachers. Maybe that’s why we had Birthday Party in Mad Since Lab this year?

It was a lot of fun. Children, and even adults, loved it. Fist Kinetic Candace was presenting Mad Science with lots of interaction and volunteers from the audience. We played with electricity, conducted experiments with dry ice and made dry ice bubbles. Kinetic Candace was fabulous!

From there it moved to slime making and each child made their own slime (their color of choice), which they got to take home in a sealed plastic container. But first children had to swear with one hand on their hart and another one on their head, that they will not play with magic slime in the car or on the carpet. And later there was the cake with candles, which were blown out in two attempts, and of course opening of presents.

Exist in photos for your children and grandchildren | Snoqualmie Valley Lifestyle & Birth Photographer

I love my mama. She was kind and smart, and wise, and loving, and joyful, and gentle, and soft, and beautiful… and so many other adjectives. She loved reading and had thousands of books, which I hauled form Europe to USA with me when my husband and I moved over here. She loved knitting and sewing. I still own couple of sweaters made by her. Even though they don’t fit me anymore, I can’t part with them, because they were made by my mom and she will not make me a new one any more. My mom lost a battle with cancer almost 10 years ago. In exactly one month from Mother’s Day it will be her Birthday. She would have been 58 years old. And do you know what I am sad about the most now? I don’t have enough photographs of her and NONE made by a professional photographer. It makes me very sad.

I love this photograph of my parents. They are so young and beautiful here. It was taken one year before I was born. Dad is 22, mom is almost 19 on this photo. Love them!

There are more pictures of mama young, but the older she gets, the less pictures of her we have left. But I would love to have photographs of mom as I remember her. To me and my brother it doesn’t matter if she was 50 pounds overweight, for us she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

Please don’t wait anymore “when you lose 10 more pounds”. Don’t tell yourself “someday I will get my pictures taken”. There are seven days in a week and “someday” isn’t one of them. You are beautiful just the way you are. Your children love you just the way you are. Exist in photos for your children and grandchildren, create a photographic legacy for them to keep. Do it now!

I feel blessed that I can share my gift and give people beautiful photographs that will become family heirlooms for many generations to come.
